This was never my favorite series or anything but I liked it well enough before... now it's just fuckin exhausting, man. There was like 1 ½ characters in this chapter that I find tolerable & every time I read the comments I just get less and less optimistic that it'll turn around any time soon...

Yeah, i checked previous Manga chapters, and in Chapter 53 she does say that "Mio" was a name given to her by Grandpa, while the family name on the grave was "Arisugawa".

But question is, what was Granny's old name?

I mean she had been alive for thousands of years in the other world, so she had to have had a name there.

Also, there is a possibility that "Alice Gawamio" is her actual name, which was modified into "Arisugawa Mio" by Grandpa (thus giving her the name "Mio") and he also took on her new Surname as his own after he married her (in Japan, it is not uncommon for a Man to marry into his Wife's house and adopt her surname).

Gotta reread since it's been a long time that I forgot the timeline, but it's possible the name 'Arisu Gawamio' only rose to fame during her adventures with grandpa in isekai, meaning the isekai name is the mispronounced ver of the name grandpa gave her, not the other way around.
