1. Gotta respect the kouhai straight up going for it. Bigger balls than me, that's for sure. I wonder how this plays out in the end, though; we're kinda in a corner where he has to either romance her or be friends. I'm not sure how this dynamic can stay interesting when that happens without going too fast.

2. I'm not sure how I feel about the MC just yet. On one hand, hell yeah! These guys have been assholes and he's getting his life together. On the other hand, I think his methods of getting back at them are slightly overkill. Maybe I'm losing my spine as I get older.

maid cafe person has no daily connection so it’s harder for her to explain and the guy was being pretty stupid about that anyway.

She actually has a way thanks to a laughably convenient plot device. The explanation she gives, though, is even more risible still. Suffice to say he had no reason to believe what was happening because no sane human being would have talked herself into thinking what she did made sense.

It's a social defense mechanism driven by fear of disapproval by the people around her. Pandering to the mainstream tastes of the boring normies around her, fearful of expressing herself. You need to work on that, girl. Although I don't think her verbal abuse on him before really counted as lying. It was painfully rude (and don't get me wrong, it's a bad thing for sure) but it happened to be true and that he also needed to improve himself.

I got the feeling he'll give her the second chance she hopes, because Yuuta isn't as cold as the other protagonists of similar stories I've seen. In that case, I have mixed feelings about her getting to be the female lead so quickly and easily (although she does declare she's leaving her old ways behind).

So if this really does go down her route, I hope both of them work on improving themselves for a more fulfilling, non-toxic romance.

Hm. A few reactions disapprove of MC getting together with this girl immediately. The girl apologized and explained she was aware of how poor her personality is. On the other side, MC is also questioning if what he's doing is "right." I think starting over is fine. Going into gf territory would be too fast.
