As mentioned, Adaptation, the WN have 74 chapters (10 Main Chapters) and haven't had an update since 2023 and haven't finished, the LN have 4 Volumes with latest published on March 19th, there is a translation for both, WN is up to date and the LN one finished Volume 3 (WN with those 74 chapters, still sorta have more content than the LN, Vol.4 finished WN Main Chapter 5)

Having read all the WN, and being a bit of a fan of the series, this opening is a bit disappointing...

Though it's only the first chapter, and maybe I'm just wearing fanboy goggles and have too high expectations, so hopefully this warms on me.
If anything, I just hope this makes the author get off his lazy butt and start writing again!... I should probably check the LNs, which may be getting updated.

Her being tired of isekai stories and making him a side character to make things interesting doesn't really add up. I'm pretty sure that is the normal setting for the most part, it is pretty rare for me to find "reincarnated into a story" where they are made into the pre-existing protagonist. Most of the reincarnated I have seen that were put into the protagonists spot were not the MC.
