@mdescova Well Sansui doesn't really seem apposed to it, it's just that due to his training he has no strong romantic feelings. Plus he already has a close relationship with Brauer, even if it's more like friends/colleagues, so it's not like he's marrying a stranger.

And it's not as if those other males are in any way superior.
The other Japanese guy is even blander and actually more stupid than the ML, and the new guy is just a classic jock/good-looking hero type. He seems like a good guy, but I don't buy it. Also, what's with him not letting his sister do her thing?
The other girls are apparently allowed to glom on to whoever seems to be the strongest one around, and even become part of harems, but he (jock-type "hero") gets to tell his sister that she is BAD?

Japanese MCs are often exaggeratedly concerned with not hurting those around them, but this guy just keeps stepping in it when it comes to his "daughter" Rain.
Considering his "master" sent him to "civilization" to get reacquainted with being a human, he keeps failing in an epic fashion.
The thing about Rain's name, and then (in the carriage) saying the only reason he's around, is that he was ordered to stay with the humans until Rain is an adult. Talk about telling her he doesn't care AT ALL about her.
He definitely needs to learn to be human again. That said, if one looks at the first panels of this manga, he seems to have been a pretty callow boy to begin with.
But still. He immediately accepted being a sword for hire, when he was told others would take care of Rain.
He should have focused on taking care of her, learning attachment, understanding what it means to care for and about other people.
So far, he's done nothing but fail.

I don't get what anyone is complaining about. I quite dug Brauer staying persistent with her push to marry Sansui. You usually don't see that stuff with "devoted servant" archetypes, and it's on the rarer half as far as isekai love interests are concerned.

And on the subject of isekai, I don't see Sansui being a blank slate or "beta cuck", whatever the hell that means. He's a sage. Like...this is literally a trait of sages. They're long-lived, and perhaps consequentially, they've purged their desires and ego.
Sansui has the sort of mental state that many religious monks strive for, with absolute patience, indifference, and humility.

Granted, he could've been a lot more creative with his power, skills, and position, but that's why he's the "boring Sword Saint".

I agree. Brauer's interest fits her personality. I have no problems there.
As for ML? He was told to go to civilization to reconnect to humanity, feelings, and learn about other things than the total focus on swordsmanship/sage arts. And he was supposed to care for Rain.
He's failed utterly at all this.
That said, his sensei was/is pretty shit at instructing, so it's not all ML's fault, I guess.
