I prefer the other version. That version has the late 90s early 2000s dark fantasy shonen mystique to it from a generation of comics trying to imitate or inspired by Berserk success (Claymore?). It doesn't wear its Isekai material on its sleeve, which to me is refreshing. I was drawn into that immediately, not outright revealing that the character is a reincarnator really added to his mystique. This one seems a little comfortable being an Isekai adaption and choose to spend less effort on it.
