Probably the best character writing so far in rebellion, although pretty biased since I think Zane was one of best written parts of original winvurga. Rebellion writing has been really bad overall tbh so this was nice.

Yea I think win and majiko arc were good in rebellion but the mashiro being defiled scene feels really forced and didn't really serve any purpose. I don't really care about the author using a main character for that typa stuff since he did the same with all of the jinkis nearly (except aoba I think) but when it's there just to be there it really weakens the original work and this one. Might be just because it's monthly but the writing really drags on or becomes cliche in rebellion too. Original winvurga was kinda cliche but mashiro was more developed there with her light and dark form self and more world building on the cast of characters. Rebellion kinda just takes the characters people like and re introduces them for win, or just defiles them cause fan service(not bad again as long as plot keeps up).

Idk this mini zane arc has been good and rumor is Yomi will be next chapters which is good, but again it's kinda just borrowing the previous works and flaunting them. I haven't seen anything specifically good in rebellion like the jinki or winvurga series. All just my opinion though, definitely can change.

Yeah, we already know the kid. And..yeah somehow the “the dominators want us to have kids so…let’s do exactly that to defy them” plan worked. It’s a stupid ass plan. And Zane suddenly loving someone other than Mashiro comes out of nowhere but…okay.

The story still moves at the speed of snail. In OG winvurga, these last 3/4 chapters would all be 1 chapter. They draw things out too much. 1 chapter for capture. 1 chapter for the first penetration. 1 chapter for the creampie. It takes 3 months to do a scene that realistically takes 2 minutes real time to read/see in animation with the ridiculous villain speech included.

And next chapters are Yomi so once again we’re just reintroducing more flashback characters and our supposed lead, Win, will wind up absent for half a year…and it’ll be over a year until Win actually does something. I mean really…Win did nothing but watch Mashiro get raped. Then they had a misunderstanding battle that ends in a draw…now this and Yomi.

See you in 2027 when the cliffhanger of “something invaded the void win was at” gets brought back up. lol.

Probably not.
I mean, Win already reunited w/ Magico's group. Magico aside, everyone else looks like the same age as when we last saw them in the OG. Then we meet Hibana's kid who's already grown up. Either she was taken to a Void w/ faster flow of time, or this world has tech that speeds up growth.

And Zane suddenly loving someone other than Mashiro comes out of nowhere but…okay.

After reading the translated chapter here, I think our machine translators just didn't do the whole part justice and we misinterpreted what Zane meant.

He didn't mean he secretly loved Hibana all along since the OG series in the natural romantic sense. He was phrasing his words based on Dolman's own words, so it might sound weird without knowing the context properly.

To translate what Dolman said using different words without letting the fluff cloud the meaning:
"Don't lump me in w/ those Dominators who only seek their own pleasure! Whenever I have sex w/ women, I show them respect and affection."
And we already know since the OG that Dolman makes an effort to make sure his partner is also enjoying the act.

With that in mind, here's Zane's thought process in response, which he told Hibana in the current scene:
"Since the moment I remembered what Dolman told me, I decided to love have sex with you respectfully and affectionately."

Fair point. Every now and then the dialogue does try to be better than the porn dialogue. That is something that has been true in the series…

but it always it flip flops. Like we get one poignant moment about what it means to be ____…. And then next scene we get someone talk about having 7 hymens in their vagina and a magic spatula in their penis because… why not?

It’s like a video game where you mow down thousands of enemies… and then in a cutscene someone says “violence is bad” and they let the villain live. whiplash.
