This just made me realize something. It's fun following Bertia playing matchmaker. That essentially what the early chapters of Bakarina was. Sure, it's technically different but thematically the same. Katrina's antics was funny and it was fun to watch her befriend the cast. And while Bertia is playing matchmaker for others, it is still funny antics and amusement as characters all interact with each other.

I guess that's why the recent chapters are not so fun. Bakarina's strength (and this series's) is the humor derived between characters. Not that one can't have good drama, but it hasn't been a good replacement to the fun enjoyed in the early chapters. Well hopefully it will return to being better in the next arc. I try to avoid spoilers, but I have seen there's many more stories which hopefully mean better arcs.

@RhoninFire agree with your post 150%

At least personally I find the romantic dynamics in this nicer to think about than bakarina's, though I still enjoy bakarina it feels more fulfilling to see how things play out with bertia's story and the evolving romances and relationships. (the Web novel is a really great read too)

@welcome2atlantis While I agree that is uncouth behavior, sometimes it's necessary. When one party is too unaware and the other is unwilling to be direct, nothing will happen and the two may end up drifting apart broken hearted. Communication is an absolute must in any relationship, doubly so when it comes to romance. Silica needed to be more direct with her feelings otherwise Nelt would have never noticed.

Bertia is like us, the audiences, having enough of a character's cowardice and exposing their feelings before their relationships get worse. Bertia's way of doing is quite untactful but I guess it's necessary + she learns from her mistake.

This has to be the BEST way I've seen an otome route set get intentionally blown apart. That and the probably reincarnated heroine is even a worse actor than Bertia. Though it also looks like the heroine wasn't expecting to have to work for anything in this, so it's not like I can really sympathize with her. yet. I kinda hope that changes.

you know they get all emberrased but bertia's right, you won't get anywhere if you don't try and assert your feelings.
