Tons of people are clueless in this world. However, seems like majority are Primary or secondary students (at least in my country).

i hate her hahaha i hated her in the novel and i hate her here, the mangaka really does a wonderful job depicting how hateful this chick is. that line at the end??? she doesn't even SEE him as he IS. like bertia is dense but at least she tries hard for him and likes him, also she met him when he was young and apathetic so she might have missed the change (that's really no excuse but okay MAYBE that happened.) but this girl has no excuse?? she only knows him from the game, and then met him actually in person during their school years... and he clearly never had the slightest bit of interest in her. like... what the heck

In case anyone has forgotten, the "heroine" doesn't know spirits exist. She probably thinks the bird is just an ordinary bird. We know this from back when they were discussing the game; the existence of spirits wasn't revealed at all, in a game where you're viewing things through the eyes of the heroine. So she doesn't even know the bird has these abilities, and it's just doing things of its own accord in a misguided attempt to repay its debt to her.

@SakamotoDeath: It's not the last one, but there will be a hiatus till May 1st because of undisclosed reasons (it just says "due to inconvenience" on alphapolis, which I suppose means the mangaka can't get it out in time).

That heroine (and in some extent even Bertia) is a good example of zero sum thinking which can cloud one's reasoning. She invested so much time and effort for her "good ending" she couldn't see and/or believe she was losing more than she was gaining, completely convinced that eventually all her work would bring success in the end in spite of that.
You can see that situation in gambling, with people convinced they will eventually get the jackpot, even though they are losing a lot of money in the process. They arrive at a point that they can't quit, because they invested too much already and want that money back, which is a flawed reasoning that pushes them to continue. That is more likely to spiral down to ruin than to simply stop.
It's a very serious and real cognitive bias which can destroy a person.

Honestly I never liked the plot making her this stupid. Yeah MC is also quite stupid but with her it is amusing with the antagonist girl it is just kinda sad and hard to believe how little she understands her surroundings.
