The past half a decade I've read and read and read multiple manga and it's become a trend to over complicate or ruin stories due to terrible endings...a recent one I'm obsessed with for a few years now is "Hope You're Happy Lemon" a romance manga. Spoilers the story is at a moment where the MC has started dating the side girl not the childhood friend/co-lead girl so I'm at a lowpoint as an example.
This story however-it's simple but amazing and interesting. Lovely and the characters are amazing. Bertia in particular. Well written and a plot that may have an obvious ending at the beginning. I'm happy to see her and Cecil from childhood and now with a family and wedded. I personally almost cried during the wedding chapter and during the moment her father flashing back to memories when she was a child lmao. I read this quickly within a few days so it's not as if I had to wait years but the journey still hit me hard and I appreciate that I finally recieved a great/good ending to a manga.
I do feel a tad bit sad at Heronia however...many people go into isekai/reincarnations with the mindset that they have a purpose. To have a cheat and or advantage in a world you know. Truly she wasn't a bad person, but from her perspective it was a sad ending. Blinded by privilege - eyes open up to reality that you messed up your chances at your Otome game. Banished from the kingdom, your only friend gone and people hate you. To live your adult life far away with nothing exciting or dramatic now. Which is what we strive for when we read/play these genre if games or manga.
I dislike goodbyes but this was an amazing story oncemore. Kuro was also very adorable.
