Okay I don't usually complain about weird settings, or even completely impractical ones but HOLY FUCK. How retarded would you have to be to have a school system that lets people do good in school if they are just good at fucking games? They could be completely useless outside of games and not know how to do jack fucking shit and basically do nothing for society, and that would be totally fucking fine.

@Grenzoocoon It works if those games require the same base skills as the top jobs do. A lot of people at the "top" of the world don't do what they supposedly do for a living, best. They have an edge because of cleverness, luck, or whatever else which allows them to beat out the competition and take positions that require those skills to function.

There are many people who got where they are not through what they are supposedly known for but for the alternative skillset they used to get there. Stan Lee for instance. A look at his career shows what his strength was and it wasn't that he was the best at comic books.

I mean politics alone are full of people that just should not be there. For some reason though we accept blatant lies in our politicians. Is the world worse off? Sure, but even so its no different to the setting at hand so why is it insane? I mean "good for society" is subjective. It depends what role they fill and what roles exist for them to fill. If beating people in games and being tricky is what is desired then it makes perfect sense. Gullible girl would be eaten alive in a world of con artists after all. Not a good person to be in power regardless of her other abilities. She would need protection as a default setting.
