There are many different self-identifying pronouns, not just one used by guys and one for girls. In fact, the "woman" one, what we'd spell as "watashi", isn't even gendered, it's just the most polite/professional. There's only a gendered connotation because women are expected to be polite. "Boku" is one used by both genders frequently, also neutral, and without knowing the raws I'd assume this one was used for the ambiguity.

I would argue that we do not know about the context yet. I have seen someone who chase for their dream and sacrificing everything else for it.

She might want stability since her ex is financially unstable from dumping most if not all of his money to his dream. She might want a husband who is not constantly busy with his jobs or dream to the point that he neglect his family. She might even have been traumatized by people who would do anything, even marrying someone, just for their dream so there is no love in her previous marriage.
