the concept of this manga is... you will think they are "siblings", living under the "same" roof, a "room" next to each others, which is actually erotic, they are flirting (obviously) to each other. dang it lol

Saying you like someone cause they're kind does indeed sound hella shallow, and therefore pretty fake to hear.

Though I think that there's some truth to it? More in that there's different flavors of kindness and compassion that can hit someone at a personal, contextual level which is where it comes from. Like two different conversations of "how was you day," can end in two different results either being a shallow obligatory greeting, or one that makes you felt like they cared about you.

"Akira, you're still a teenager going through puberty. What you perceive as love is most likely just your hormones making you horny. That, and your imagination from watching those romance drama on TV. If after 10 years, you still feel the same way you do now, and if I haven't been seduced by Hinata, then we might become a couple. Until then, focus on your education and don't do anything foolish."

I don't expect this sort of response from Ryota, since he's also still at that stage of life. But maybe the parents can give them a good talking to, if they are even okay with the possibility of them their children getting married.

Well, at least Akira, now that Ryota seems to be interested in knowing what she wants, is very clear. She's willing to be clear with her feelings when confronted. Unlike Hinata, who I'm still rooting for by the way. I wonder what's next for these two? Will Akira be able to focus on class, now that she's shared her feelings? Will the friendship between Hinata and Akira be harmed by their shared feelings?

Though seriously, Ryota should have seen the signs. Stop denying your own quality, man. It's not helpful for anyone.

You just described all emotions. They are all chemical and electrical reactions in our brains. Because she is young doesn't make her feelings any less real.

After telling him that Hinata likes him... She attacks like that... How cunning! Brilliant move.

We all had those crushes back in high school. We've seen how many high school couples actually stay together. If her feelings are still the same after she matures, then she's truly in love with him. If not, she was basically just having a short-term crush on him, be it teenage horniness or whatever, but that's the extend of it.

Adults aren't any better about stuff like this, especially now.

Verifying her feelings is hardly about her becoming older, but about evaluating the reasons she has for liking/loving him in the first place, knowing what she's thinking about in terms of impediments (such as their technically still being family) and establishing the depth of her interest in him. That's the same for anyone.

That said, this comment is making me think more about how "off" Akira's characterization is, charming as it may be.
