Probably going past the human limits or something, his eyes changed afterwards and could see the magic threads/levels.
Manipulating the magic threads of the others (especially demon lord reincarnated) seems like god-tier feat. You could either help someone unlock his full potential or tangle all their threads and fuck them up beyond repair.

Well, many series do have the concept of Mana Veins (sometimes also referred as Dragon Veins) under the ground which acts as the natural source of unlimited power.
Maybe, the Mana Threads in this series is something that connects a person to those Veins, to allow them to harness the power of world as Levels.

Considering the main premise of the Series is that the MC (and the people around) wouldn't learn about his true nature/levels.

I guess that when MC checks his own Mana Threads, he wouldn't see them connected to the ground, further increasing his misunderstanding regarding his own levels.

And the probably reason why his Mana Threads aren't connected to the ground would likely be that, his Threads are connected to Heaven/Divine realm instead.

Tbh im more interested in why they were tangled together and why that stopped her from lvling up to 25. Was it someone/something interfering with her because she’s who she is or is it a natural phenomenon that happens sometimes causing people to get stunted? Or maybe because of how the teach said he was “normal for people today” is it something interfering with modern day people?
