I was willing to give it a try despite the sketchy premise but throwing a ten year age gap in, and then proceeding like this does makes this creepy as hell.
It genuinely felt like I was reading horror—as her "childhood friend" creeps on her, while succeeding in normalizing his predatory behavior with her, and then when he thinks things might not be going his way, preying on her anxieties to lure her into a compromising situation.
I couldn't finish it.
