As an exercise, and for a change, let's try to think of what the author could do to make the manga good again at this point.

I honestly can't really think of anything, This unnecessary audience-torture death game where Uruma could have twisted the bad guy's head off but instead sat in a VR machine and followed him into a gymnasium is already so ass.

I guess Reo is gooing to cause a distraction that lets Uruma get away but yeah It's really hard for me to think of anything that would be good.
If there are any writers here, I think coming up with what to do next to make the manga good would be a really impressive feat.

Guts was being pinned by a literal demon, which are so above humanity physically that it’s a genuinely terrifying sight to humans that Guts is capable of killing them.
