See that's because he already figured out Alpha's request and is fulfilling it. that's how great Cid is. Obivously he can't simply meet best girl for a meal - it would make the other harem members jealous. I mean it would expose her to danger from Shadow Garden's enemies as they'd see Alpha was important to him and knowing they can't take Cid on directly, target her to get at him. Cid refuses to put her into that sort of danger until she can prove herself strong enough. That is Alpha will just have to train twice... no THREE TIMES as hard to be able to be strong enough to stand beside him.
