He means to borrow 100 000 at 2% and pay back 20 000 each month which will let you borrow 100k for 5/6 months and pay it up with a total cost of around 6k which sounds pretty reasonable.

You're forgetting that it's 2% monthly meaning that you're just paying back the interest not any of the actual debt.
