Insane, that was legit fast. Did not expect that—in a good way that is.

I love how all the villains were killed off, instead of the author forgetting them. Felt bad for the hair-cut guy, means he basically killed his sister by acting upon the suicide with his hands (doubt she'll not die with that wound or be let to live by Sojo).

Ooof. I'm liking this more now. Pacing is good and has a good balance of serious and calm.

This series is really disappointing to me, the art is great, and the concept is good however the characters are forgettable and the dialogue feels unnatural. The pacing is way too fast, and I don't care about any of the characters in this series. It just feels like a rush from, Cool Fight 3 to Cool Fight 4 with no stakes and tension. The fact is week to week I remember virtually none of the characters because they've left no impression on me, it feels like Kagurabachi is just going through the motions, neglecting what makes the shonen formula actually work. It just feels so stale.

(I mightn't have many replies on MD Forums but thats because I seldom reply, not because I don't read much manga, cos I have read a LOT).

I'm kinda get this feeling that the author gonna unceremoniously kill the chracter that we emotionally invest in just like what the author of chainsaw man did.

It's probably heading that route. I feel like more and more manga authors will start doing it now

I mean, 8 Chapters is virtually one volume, and you can nearly always tell the quality of a series within the first volume, and I'm not seeing anything that's convincing me that this is gonna get any better. Even if I give them the benefit of the doubt that the characterisation and narrative is going to improve drastically, the pacing and dialogue has been really lacking and I don't see how if it hasn't improved already, it's going to improve in the future.

I'm up to date with around 200 series at the moment, most of them being pretty mediocre or bad, but the pacing of Kagurabachi is considerably worse than 95% of them and is just disorienting. I think that's the core problem I have with Kagurabachi, and if that improves, there's a chance it becomes a decent series.
