While everyone pointing out how the bat girl got redemption too easily kinda have a point, I am still not trusting the knight people completely to count them as reliable “good guys”.

So far they aren’t really shown to be morally good people and just doing their things… Maybe the plushie girl doesn’t really give an ounce to the ninyou victims and just wants a cute model for her side career. She doesn’t even seem angry about what the mafia have done to the ninyou like Kagura and Raito do and seems care more about completing her job.

It literally runs in Sunday Webry, the online edition of the same manga magazine that publishes Detective Conan, Frieren, Silver Mountain and Sleepy Princess in Demon Castle, and previously published Inuyasha, Call of the Night, Ariadne in the Blue Sky and Komi Can't Communicate. I don't know what else you expected.

tl;dr This is published in an online shonen magazine, stop expecting darker or more adult stuff just because it's essentially an all-ages reboot of the author's old porn doujinshi.

I think the artist is the one that published porn doujinshi, the writer is a different person tho. But yea, I agree that it is in the same magazine as Detective Conan, typical shounen story should be expected.

Not just shounen, but that magazine is exclusive for more light-hearted shounen. If anything, Shounen Jump has darker stuffs. So, if people really want dark shounen, they should go to Shounen Jump or just straight up Seinen. And I’m here to see really well-drawn toned ladies without harem shit. Not looking for some complex story telling.

The series so far actually consistently reinforces the idea that Ninyou are a lesser race and harming them isn't that bad or even outright excusable.

I need you to explain this reading. The only reason i can think of for you to say this is youmafication, and them turning into monsters doesn’t make them lesser, it makes them sick.

Aside from that, if you want to read this as “she showed mercy because the lady was hot” instead of “she would have told anybody they were cute and found them a good outfit because that’s what she got on a literal soapbox about not like two chapters ago” then i really can’t stop you, but i will say that take is a bit too pessimistic even for me. The artist draws porn, the ugliest person in this world is probably a low 7. Take the positive vibes where you can get them.
