Yknow, the parents in this town ... I don't see them showing up, and the absence makes me wonder - if these are spectres that can communicate & enter into pseudo-contracts, where sacrifice are rewarded (as shown by the last few chapters) - do the parents stand to benefit here? Naming your children like that seems like less of a quirky superstition, and more like naming a pet chicken "Dinner". And this chapter in particular makes me think, if death can be reversed, can you really die in this town? What comes after?
