Okay that's an incredible joke for Dan. Figuring out that Clark Kent is Superman but going "oh, but Lois will see that Clark always vanishes when there's trouble and always seems to be making flimsy excuses about why he can't go somewhere, and then SHE won't love Superman anymore" is amazing.

Giving him the push to re-contextualize her behavior because he hopes that once she realizes that the guy who's always making excuses as to why he can't be around when the hero is needed she'll think the hero is lame... this is a legendary level of self-own. I understand Dan's role in the story now, to be so dumb and self-involved that he pushes the plot along. He looks like an absurd mutant because he's basically another villain, just for Haru instead of Welbin.

His motives may have been in the wrong, but his friend was spitting some pretty good nuggets of wisdom there. Ignorance may not be an excuse, but the only way that a person can learn to get past that is to either learn from experience (which can be problematic if you aren't even aware that what you're doing is wrong,) or by having other teach and guide you. It's also important to note that it's not enough to tell someone to just not do something because the why is also pretty important, especially if you see other people doing it. Like the Peace symbol example, if you don't know what it means in Greece, would you really of avoid using it if someone just simply told "don't make a peace symbol while your traveling through Greece," especially if it's say, a trademark you use on social media when posing for pictures?

Dan's very rapidly turning from a character I hate to one of my favourite in this series lol.
He's the opposite of "He's a little confused, but his heart's in the right place," being something more like "He's pretty smart, but his heart is in the wrong place," and it's honestly pretty funny when side of him shows, since I love seeing characters like him take the L when it's their own plans that bite them in the butt

I can't actually tell if he's smart, or just so dumb it ends up wrapping around to being smart. His heart is definitely anywhere but the right place though lmao.
