If you wonder who the hell is that woman in chapter 16, in the volume version, the author retconned the afro guy to a woman for some reason. :pacman:

This chapter was published in the mag after the volume came out.
It makes sense; this is a yuri work after all.
For yuri and CGDCT manga they usually minimize the presence of men.

I think the only prominent CGDCT men I can remember off the top of my head is Konata's dad from Lucky Star and Chino's dad from Is the Order a Cunny?

I surprise it is not even the first choice tbh.
And middle age man and teenager in a same house would feel weird af even no one think the hentai plot would happen. Irl most family (who never know what hentai is) would think it is not right

To be fair, he wasn't her guardian. She appeared out of nowhere and he immediately asked her to leave. The retcon was unnecessary and was probably done for some out of the story reason.

Coming back here after reading a few more chapters. I think the author realized that the uncle was a wasted character. He didn't have anything going for him as presented, in comparison to the backstory and archeological interests of the woman who replaced him. Helps build a much more complex plot.

Plus the kinda creepy vibe of teen girl with single guy...the islanders were already making a reference to it in one of the early chapters, so not ideal, especially in a yuri work. Honestly, my first thought was "crap, I hope this living arrangement isn't going to end up being problematic" as soon as I saw it.

After binge reading 16 chps of this I don't really now how to feel about it. I thought there would be more kaiju. I completely misread what this was going to be. I thought it was a GL Godzilla story, where one of the girls turns into a kaiju and protects the island from other monsters.

I don't see why it would make sense to create a work with only females or only males, can people relate to it when they read ?
I don't think so. I'm not saying you don't make sense, I'm saying writing yuri with only females is just bad writing, since you're limiting your chances to have multiple diversified characters (a richer story in a sense).

I mean he was supposedly her uncle, what's the creepy part in living with your family because you can't help it ?
Coupled with the fact that he clearly didn't care about her, limiting the creepy options available to pop up. I'm not even mentioning the fact that the story is about yuri, so we clearly know her uncle won't be relevant in that kind of way anyway, then why would we really be concerned about creepy stuff coming from their relationship ? I don't know honestly.

Think about it 2sec. You have a middle aged man, single, living together with a pretty teenager with trendy clothes who appears out of nowhere in a island where everyone knows everyone and where nothing special happen. People don't know they are blood related and even if they are, It didn't stopped some men to cross the path.

... Am I supposed to be scared the guy will turn out to be a pedo ? We're talking about a huge minority of men here, it's not like a random guy on an island has to be a pedo, especially in a cute story like this.
If you think a middle aged man living with a teenager of the opposite sex is creepy, when it should be something totally normal, well...
Life must be pretty tiring if you're being anxious just for that.

So what ? I don't think author is trying to write about middle aged men assaulting pretty teenagers and whether the two are blood-related or not.
The presence of this male is totally inoffensive and I don't understand why people would say this guy was a problem.
I won't even mention the fact that he was drawn in like five pages altogether before getting changed to a woman, he was a total non-factor in this story and shouldn't have been seen as a problem just because of his gender, at all.

A little minority of men, yeah.
When you have more than 90% of sexual abuse who are made by men, when the vast majority of violence against children are made by men. When a lot of men find it normal for teenage girl to prostitute their self and buy their "services" or become their sugar daddy. They are a minority, yeah.
That's why you rarely hear about all of that.
Keep living in your dream land and stop talking about something you don't even know, dumbass.
And even if you are only talking about the manga, it's still creepy. At least made him married or have children to attenuate the creepy vibe.

? Imagine you're a man and you have a daughter. You need to leave for work for a few days and no one can take care of her.
Your friend and neighbor is a middle aged man, just like you. You let him keep an eye on her before you come back.
That's totally normal for me. If something like "sexual assault" happened, I would be shocked, but before it happened, due to my confidence it wouldn't happen, I wouldn't be creeped out trusting in my friend.

So yeah I know such things can happen (obviously, isn't that what we were talking about ?) but here I wouldn't be creeped out, I'd be shocked after the abuse if it happened.

You're saying numbers about men and all, that's cool, but I'm saying relative to the population, an extremely low number of people are pedophiles or criminals, meaning it'd be weird to think that any random man should be a dangerous person.

Moreover, we don't know much about their relationship. It's introduced as "friendly" so there's no way I'll start thinking he'll make a move on her, in this story it'd make even less sense.

Why should I be creeped out then ?
If you are, then it's ok, we're just apprehending this situation differently, and I don't mind honestly. I simply don't belive your arguments are sound, but I do believe people can be creaped out about this.

:)
