We know that Dariel was supposedly found on a battlefield as an infant, and that he was adopted by a heavenly general.
The heroine's mentor's infant son was never found.
The demon hierarchy is normally ranked on the basis of magical power, but Dariel was an exception.
Dariel's adopted father got REALLY mad at his biological son for kicking out Dariel.
The heroine feels a strange attraction to Dariel.
