I love how after that confession (even if Albus doesn't realize it), Fiona starts becoming a lot more proactive in pursuing Albus. That even her brother becomes immediately aware of :3
We really have to thank her brother for all his services in giving us all this romantic plot progression we otherwise wouldn't have gotten with these two. He definitely was the reason that made Fiona become more aware ♥️ Even if that was totally not his intentions xD
Though my favorite part is definitely how Fiona always brings up question that remind Albus of his humanity, his emotions, that he has a future through all this. I think after all the world changing things, Albus forgets that he does and will (Fiona will make sure of that) have a life outside of the hero shenanigans. As shown in this chapter, he's a selfless individual that was content with his sacrifice for the greater good, and never considered his own future. But now his happiness something that is of value, something that can be finally taken into consideration because his friends went out of their way to try creating that perfect future where he's included. And Fiona is always there to remind him of that.
I love how he specifically latched onto the idea in being with someone, because it's something that seems attainable, aligning with his own personal happiness with companionship. And of course, the first person that comes to his mind is Fiona, the first person he went out of his way to recruit, the one individual that will always have his back, the one he prioritizes having in his party, and eventually the one person he vows to save, no matter how many loops it takes, because he determined not only her life, but her happiness and safety is equal to his vision of the perfect future.
The whole Fiona homecoming chapters was something I've always wished for in passing, yet I feel like we got the whole feast that I was not at all prepared for. I can't believe we're not only getting hints but straight up romantic progression! And I love how it feels so natural and tied it into their individual established characterization and just enhances it. It makes me look forward to it in the future and I will definitely have this batch of chapters right in the forefront of my beloved favorites!!
I do hope eventually they drop their honorifics -kun, and -sama and call them by their names without it (Or Fiona can call him by -kun, I wouldn't mind that!) They pretty much respect each other as equals after all!
