Don't worry, he's just somebody going through the exact same kind of misunderstanding based on surface level stuff that Ibuki does. Things would have been rough if he had anything new to add to the story beyond padding, but now we get to enjoy hearing the same stuff from the manga's past slapped onto a slightly different perspective.

I can't fathom why else it would be so common and predictable
People like drama. People like men fighting for a girl. People like spice. That's pretty much it.
I love it when a third wheel happens, and I'm enjoying this development because as an spectator, I'm like:

Obviously, I know this is bait and nothing will come of it. But I grew up with Latino telenovelas, so this is right up my alley.

I genuinely can not understand people who think like you. I’ve never read a single story that introduced a third wheel and responded with anything but a groan (unless the MC/FMC really sucks). I read couple focused romances for the couple, if a third wheel is introduced all it every does is grind things to a halt to pad run time. If the artist really wants to draw more cute characters then introduce a side couple or something, baiting just to force misunderstandings and drama has been so done to death there’s not even a dead horse left to beat.

That's fine, it's not like I'm looking for understanding from people on the internet. All I'm saying is that this trope is something a lot of people like because of its nature. It's not an uncommon PoV, otherwise, romance as a whole wouldn't keep using them, and obviously, this goes both ways—just as I enjoy a male third wheel, I enjoy a female third wheel.

After reading quite literally thousands of manga, with a good chunk of them being romance, for over three decades, one simply learn to enjoy the ride and not stress too much, and if something truly does so, I just move on.
