Gonna be real this seems like the author is trying to trick people into reading yaoi. The “girl” is a full on male character design and never displays any girlish tendencies at all. I came to this manga as a tomboy enjoyer but frankly this does not feel like a tomboy manga. It feels like bog standard yaoi that the author swears is het.

So, I am not usually a fan of the "so much of a tomboy that they apparently pass in universe as a boy" trop because in real life if a girl looks THAT MUCH like a guy then I don't personally see her as attractive. But, for a while, the pacing and development in this story was at least wholesome and sincere... but now there is a new third party character who is likely designed to add drama and I hate that trope.

im rooting for the new guy to steal away the girl from the short guy and turns into ntr down the line. tried of love triangle cliche. literally 5 romance mangas im reading all some how coincidentally ended up starting love triangles in their stories all at the same time. talk about having no inspiration or original ideas. feels like japanese manga writers are no different from chinese novel writers. all repetitive stories.

The editors are pushing hard for the cliches. I think the original run for this title was for meant for 24 chapters and it worked really well for the mangaka sticking to the original script.

Mangaka likely got short term renewal, which usually happens for newbies, so can’t venture too far off from the end destination in case it gets axed but not power creep so quickly there is no room for further extension.

If the mangaka can resist editorial pressure enough we should be able to see it up to 70-80 chapters for a decent progression.

if its the editor its very unfortunately the author should have just ended it at a good point and have a good story but its also understandable since its a job earning money means more chapters.

honestly i do like their art style so i think they still have hope though i do think itll take longer for the mangaka to brainstorm another story that doesnt run into a wall in the off chance this one does. not saying it will or hoping bad on it but yea.....
