Okay, so that guy was on a mission to kill the bandit leader, but they've both left all the remaining bandits in the forest so they can regroup and could still threaten the village. Unless the guy was killing them all in stealth mode while Ren was busy fighting the bandit leader.

It seems that the bandit leader was quite strong, so without him, the bandit group may decide that they cannot take on the village. The unknown wood monster that took them down easily is also a concern for them so that might be a reason to leave. Still, the village is going to have to prepare to repel the bandits in case they do decide to attack. I also expect that both Dubble and Ren will need a few days to recover so if they quickly decide to attack the village, it could be dangerous.

I'm going to guess that the rosary was some sort of protection item, and that it broke following Ren's strike.

Well it's tough that we have to wait now and that the webnovel doesn't really seem to be available. I'm quite curious about how it'll all unfold.

Alright, after seeing some of information for volumes of the light novel, I think I can somewhat grasp what the future story of this manga will be if it does get more chapters.

Spoiler: Light Novel Spoilers

So after this whole mess, it looks like there will be a timeskip of 3 years. So ren and the rest of the children will be like 8/9. Tetra disappeared so Ren has to find her which causes him to find a lot of spirits. Spirit needs help with a terrible person in a sanctuary. Theres then another timeskip of like 3 more years and Ren is eleven. He goes to another city called "Malachia" (it's a dungeon city) with a person called Tanya. Apparently three of his childhood friends ran away there to become adventurers and now he has to go find them. They only been missing for three days and apparently they got caught in a trap in a dungeon where monsters roam, and are trapped somewhere. He finds out that the dungeon conquering team selection is happening, so he heads to the exam venue. But the unreasonable task is to drive a truck while carrying a 300 kg basket. He overcomes it with ease by making full use of his physical strengthening, but the rough examiner demands a fight. Then after that, Ren apparently gets involved with a whole war and he's still searching for those friends. He's also with this new character all throughout this. And that seems to be where the light novel ends with volume 4.

He doesn't know any of that, he showed up after Dubble released the hostages. He was wondering why those dumbasses were there and injured, but didn't worry about it beyond getting them out of sight before his fight with the bandits.

It's honestly refreshing to read a story where the MC does not want to kill, not because of some higher moral or because killing wasn't the correct move, but simply because of not having the mental fortitude for it.

Yea the bandits deserve death and more, but being a killer sucks and fighting to the death is even worse.

So some possibilities for the one that got away. First, he could have family that was killed by the bandit group and joined to get close to exact revenge. Second is he was an absent member of the adventurer party that was wiped out to steal their credential, again revenge. Third, he is just a bandit and he seized on this event to take control of whatever remains of the bandit group. Finally, he could be a knight/mercenary/clergy member that was dispatched to infiltrate and if possible eliminate the bandit. The clergy one would make sense as he was using the rosary for protection.

Either way, I'm glad they got annihilated. With some more practice Ren is going to be OP in a hurry since he's only what like 8 years old.

I'm just going to assume level up sickness.

Also the rosary is probably something that protects from anything that might kill you such as one hit kills then breaks, so it's a sacrificial totem like the ones in Minecraft or harem labyrinth with it's sacrificial misanga, which is a small thread that gets infused by a skill crystal dropped from a monster from a labyrinth. It operates by simply taking the hit that might be fatal for the user instead.
