This is an expected development. The publishing company would have wanted her to work full time on the manga in order to capitalize on the current popularity. It would be unrealistic to expect a high schooler to take on that much work while also going to school. They also would definitely want her to turn down the explicit content since the series wasn't originally made as a yaoi series.

Glad Misumi decided to carve out her own path!

The editor is a good character, she could become her editor once she starts serializing her own original manga, and she can make that manga fujoshi paradise.

I've seen a lot of twitter and pixiv artists delete their porn once they get serialized, but never thought that was a possibility here, interesting they brought that up.

I loved seeing Misumi really assess how she felt and what she wanted, and then standing up for it even when it goes against what seems like the obvious choice. And it also shows that, just because something is an incredible opportunity, doesn't mean you automatically have to take it! I'm interested to see if we'll get a glimpse into Misumi's original work...should be fun! Ai is also wonderfully supportive here. Her putting Misumi's best interests and desires above her own are a big reason why they are so precious together.
