They focused heavily on that cup that seemed like it was sweating... It wouldn't do that if it was months old. Just a metaphor for the kid crying or someone else sneaking around without that robot or them seeing?

I got the same impression from that panel. It was like someone had snuck in and left the cup behind. The water is from condensation due to fresh ice inside.

It just occurred to me that the reason they were left behind is probably because they're supposed to be the "new" Adam and Eve. man I feel stupid only figuring this out after several months
you can't rebuild with just 2 people, perhaps not even if they had such perfect genes that incest didn't cause any trouble.
I remember a calculation being made years ago....if I look around there are some neat articles on the matter
https://www.bbc.com/future/article/20160113-could-just-two-people-repopulate-earth
So how much variety do you need? It’s a debate that goes right back to the 80s, says Stephens, when an Australian scientist proposed a universal rule of thumb. “Basically you need 50 breeding individuals to avoid inbreeding depression and 500 in order to adapt,” he says. It’s a rule still used today – though it’s been upped to 500-5,000 to account for random losses when genes are passed from one generation to the next – to inform the IUCN Red List, which catalogues the world’s most threatened species.
But before you write off our couple, as one scientist pointed out, we’re living proof of the concept’s inherent flaws. According to anatomical and archaeological evidence, our ancestors wouldn’t have made our own population targets, with 1,000 individuals in existence for nearly a million years. Then between 50,000 and 100,000 years ago, we hit another rough patch as our ancestors migrated out of Africa. As you would expect, we’ve been left with astonishingly low genetic diversity. A 2012 study of the genetic differences between neighbouring groups of chimpanzees found more diversity in a single group than among all seven billion humans alive today.
The article is a lot longer and there are many that tackled this subject.
Is a mixed bag, at least a 100 people would be needed and many many children from each woman.
I hope is something different than this, or that the woman is the cause of the apocalypse.

Making another post just to throw this recommendation "the purple cloud", neat book that explores the idea of being the only left on Earth, I felt that it harkened back to some primal fears that would probably arise in people that find themselves in that situation. Also is funny how he would just go around setting up explosives breaking important monuments every now and then....and he is called Adam.

It makes more sense he doesn't want to lose their dynamic if he is holding onto some form of normalcy returning. I can't help but think he'll either be dissuaded from that by actually meeting other people or if enough time passes.

If they bump into a woman or couple it's less likely to be a complete shitshow, if it's a guy alone or even 2 guys 1 girls I can imagine Lamia might be one of the most desirable people on the planet. I guess I should check past works to see what I should I expect going forward :meguuusad:
