I think the young girl didn't show up again til this chapter so i'm not sureUh... What?
What a strange way to end the series. Was there any hint from the previous chapters that it was a curse by the old man's family?
I agree - but I think the author's original intention was to create a horror anthology centered around the senses (sight, smell, taste, hearing, touch etc thus the title). It just happens that there are chapters that are interconnected. This could have benefitted from a couple more chapters
The evil thing behind the old man's daughter-in-law looks like the ghosts that the blind girl "sees", while the sister with magic hearing saw that old man fall. I don't think everything is supposed to be directly connected, I would describe it like looking at grander picture, instead of focusing on one part of it.Wait, I still don't get how this story related to the previous stories with blind girl, stinky kidnapper girl, and sexual abuse editor. The only related story is the past/back story of current chapter, even then it doesn't relate with the other stories.
i liked that the author brought back the little girl, this story really fit with the 'the paranormal as a blessing and a curse' theme. plus, it wasn't as deeply tied to the other plots, which i liked since this is supposed to be an anthology.I agree - but I think the author's original intention was to create a horror anthology centered around the senses (sight, smell, taste, hearing, touch etc thus the title). It just happens that there are chapters that are interconnected.
Though I too think that there should be more of the blind girl, the siblings and cannibal couple. It was mentioned here that bodies were discovered in that town (why it took 11 years I guess we'll just never know).
It's from Insomnia by Hokazono Masaya ch. 14Thanks for completing this @Spiraphobia. I'm curious about the Kuchisake Onna image you use as your afterword signature, where is it from?
Talk about an awkward interaction. Imagine keeping a secret that you might have once committed manslaughter for more than a decade, constantly wrestling with feelings of guilt and paranoia that someone might find out. Then you meet your former neighbor on the street and she reveals that not only has she known all along, but she also set you up in the first place. And then she reveals that she trapped you in a time loop so that you could finally find the motivation to improve your drawing skills enough to get into art school in what's gotta be one of the most backhanded ways of saying thanks imaginable.
The only thing that could make this worse is if she somehow found out that she also indirectly ruined the life of a high school girl who witnessed the old man's death by setting in motion a chain of events that ended in her getting kidnapped by a killer cannibal and a stinky recluse.
holy fuck i just realised this as well. man, at least this girl has nothing to do with mrs bunny murderer. The only thing that could make this worse is if she somehow found out that she also indirectly ruined the life of a high school girl who witnessed the old man's death by setting in motion a chain of events that ended in her getting kidnapped by a killer cannibal and a stinky recluse.
