She agreed to work at the AV production company to gain experience in the entertainment industry, thinking the AV industry is a microcosm of the larger entertainment world. As ridiculous as it may seem, this is Kaori’s thought process... She’s extremely stupid. The reality is that she’s working at the AV company simply because the author wants her to, and that’s it. No one who genuinely wants to be an idol would get involved with AV in any way. First off, it’s a waste of time, since an idol’s career is short-lived, and secondly, if anyone found out an idol had any connection to AV, their career would be over. The only reasonable explanation is that the author is setting Kaori up for failure when she eventually tries to pursue her idol career.
