This manga started off so good, but this whole Ruka thing has kinda ruined it. Not Ruka herself though, but how the MC and Chizuru are responding to the situation.

I know I shouldn't expect anything different from a Shounen romance, but I just wish more enterprising mangakas out there could find a way to create drama without resorting to the 'Japanese teenagers are unable to communicate honestly like normal humans' trope.

the lesson is very simple and the author basically shoves it on every chapter: a lie has no legs
the more kazuya lies, the worse it's going to be on his grandma, same thing for the rental girl

I’m not sure about Ruka but I think she’s just the only exception, and one of the more honest characters in this.
