Honestly I don't get the complaints about Nishikata acting awkward around his wife in this chapter--he seems more off-guard and acting awkward because he's not sure how he should be Dad-ing here, and less bothered by her presence.

That and flirting in front of your kid is a reasonable thing to feel awkward about. Heck, (former) Takagi didn't seem to expect him to ACTUALLY hug her; that actually broke her poker face for a second.

yeah anyone who read this and thought, wow nishikata back at it being awkward around his wife, should probably reread the chapter. he's clearly flustered because it's in front of chi, and not only that but he's trying to convince chi that he didn't mean what he said to make her feel better. and also admitting in front of his daughter that he himself likes to be cuddled lol

anyway...one of the cutest chapters!
