Anime version of beryl genuinely looks old. I’m not getting great vibes from it though, cuz i can’t tell how intentional it is.


But holy [e%crement] the chapter. as for the reason why the sword didn’t break, earlier in the chapter he shifted all of his defense into his sword, because it was the only way it would survive clashing with beryl’s blade.

This has become just another "shonen battler" manga the tone shifted when we encounter the little girls and now we have grapes in this manga and villains that die is a very satisfying way despite them killing many innocent people without remorse which is very unfair for their victims because one got graped so bad she died after grape and yet these villains get a fitting ending in a "shonen" kind of way. Where is the manga i used to love and read such a shame.

I have started watching anime in 2007 for the first time. I have watched over 800 titles, and 500 manga titles in library (only on mangadex, i have been reading manga for long time now). I consume isekai/fantasy slop with same premises quite regularly, in hopes of finding a diamond in the rough, thats why i keep checking the recommended page. Today i found this manga by pure chance, it was not recommended.

in all of the years, i have HARDLY seen such good choreography with swords in a fantasy setting, and this manga is consistent with it, but this chapter, HOLY SHIT, it had everything. This fight is unironically comparable to “Sword of the stranger” choreography, and it is held in VERY high regard. They even had a good emotional scene, which was not complicated, but was done just right. i also really liked how the showed the “options” each fighter had, and i very much liked the panel where antagonists sight of future distorts, once he realised that he can’t move that way with his leg sliced. And as soon as he realised it - you bet the MC realised it as well, and in the very next panel went for the strike. It was just cinema, enough said.

I love that Schupple imagined him sparring with Beryl in front of his wife during a picnic. This 'Sven' church definitely has some crooked higher ups that need dealt with. The Bishop is far from the greatest villain in this series if they're out here assassinating nobles to keep 'miracles' in their hands alone.

I normally hate when a Manga does a fight scene chapter with little to no dialogue, but holy fuck does this artist know how to convey everything without a word. That was the most hyped I've been for a Manga fight..... Ever!

I have the highest praise for artists who can "show" the story instead of "telling" it.
The mangaka seriously nailed it with the "Just 2 swordsman fighting it out" with no dialogue to detract from the pure visual marvel.
Even the still images tells so much via the details big and small that really heightens the tension of who will go down first without some pesky talking in between that kills off the flow of the battle.
Ill be keeping my eyes on this artist for their future works

He should have kept going, living for her instead of trying to bring her back, especially since he knew she wouldn't want that.

But as he had a lot of turbulence inside I know why he chose that, he chose wrong, but I don't think he would blame anyone but himself for his choice.

I like how the mangaka made schupel self aware of his own crimes and how his actions did not amount to anything. Not that im saying it absolved him of his crimes, if anything it just hammers it harder how all the sins he committed is pointless in the end

The anime quite literally skips the entire battle of this arc. My disappoinment is so immensed that I have to vent here. Like you really had to cut off all cool fight scenes and left the "braindead fights" in, might as well don't show it in the first place. BTW since this is already a spoiler, the entire twilight and bishop arc is only within ep 4-6 so do whatever you want with this info
