Also enjoy the reality of this chapter, which is massively improved compared to the other iterations based on comments.

watching for people whose actions don’t make sense is a huge part of security/self defense. I bet the assassin wasn’t even hard to discern. Just like real life, however, 99% of people aren’t mentally aware enough.

This demonstrated a new side of Beryl’s character to me that is cool, in character (observation/vision), and reinforcing his competency. Really efficient use of a chapter. You could even dig deeper and say it’s another example of how he pays attention to others.

I know that this chapter is supposed to demonstrate Beryl's powers of perception, but at the same time, the assassin with the crossbow just came off as a bit incompetent... The point of sniping somebody is to do it from a range where you can't be easily spotted.

Yeah, but it's a crossbow, not a sniper rifle. It also appears to be a light crossbow since it's loaded by hand. If it were any farther away It wouldn't have enough power or accuracy to be effective at anything

Another point to this manga for having villains who are actually competent enough to know when they are outmatched or outclassed and knows when to retreat. They aren't the usual dumb villain with over inflated ego that doesnt know theyre about to get annihilated by the MC's secret hidden OP skill. Seriously when was the last time you read a manga where the villain knows they are straight up outmatched and thus having to resort to trickery and ambushes?

THANK YOU!! people arent aware about effective ranges of bows, common misconception is that bows are this magical tactical sniper you just draw with your arms. Heck, common light bows only have an effective range of about 20 meters MAX on a good day and also depends on the user and weather etc.. idk about heavy bows since im too much of a novice to be using those but people overestimate the range of bows when it comes to precision shooting.

impressive chapter that shows how truly dangerous Beryl is. so dangerous even the assasssins knew they were outmatched and better run away but i don't think they will get far since they are being followed.

this manga artist really cares about his work.. it is good.

A quick Googling says that most users can get 50 yards (45 meters) with no issues on a calm day, and this shooter is supposed to be good at this, so I'd say 80 yards (73 meters)—which normal people practice from for shits and giggles—should be doable for them, and that'd be the next street over with modern roads even when you take into account things like the distance from the roof on one side of the street to the other.

What I'm getting at is, if this assassin really is an expert, I feel like they should have tried this from at least a street over, which would be much harder to spot. And if they're not an expert, what are they even doing here?

I've also posted as a report, but page 30 (printed as 24) is out of order and needs moving back 3 spots.
