In the LN, the assassin were using dagger to tried to assassinate the prince. There were 3 assassin that jumped on the parade group.

Of course, with how monstrous Beryl was, he managed to foiled the assassin attempt. And that was because he sensed a bit of bloodlust from crowd toward the parade group.

And in the LN, the assassin were just some faceless and nameless mobs. Not like this one in the manga were the assassin had face, name, and reasons for they did.

I fucking LOVE that the Royal Guard is competent and it's not just Beryl doing everything. Them tailing the assassin and spy is one of those things that just makes me appreciate this manga more.

I think it needs to be pointed out how cool it is that the knights are actually competent. In any other manga, the "elite group" would be fucking trashed by almost any named character purely to make clear how over-the-top they are. But not here, here the knights take their job seriously and they don't fuck up. Yeah, the assassin escapes but it's because they couldn't predict there would be some kind of accelerated healing involved, and they're being as cautious as they were ordered to be.

Good stuff. This manga is awesome.

Honestly, the fight scenes are good in the Anime, but the sheer presence and emotions are far more conveyed in the manga. I honestly love the parts where Beryl is interposed alongside his "aura" whenever he fights. If the anime had been able to convey that, it could have been considered a contender for Best Anime.

The Leberio knights ARE a strong order from top to bottom, and so are their enemies, to be able to deal with them.

I saw the comments of the Leberio Knights being competent. At one point, I was kinda worried that they stole the spotlight from Beryl, especially when the young knight got the assassin right on the back. "Well, ig her story is not for long then."

Then her pulling the magical heal on herself actually put my mind at ease. Rather strange. If it was any other title, I would've called it bs deus ex magic, but I actually glad that she pulled a healing on herself, if it's just to allow a moment for meetup with Beryl.

And it did not disappoint.
