Rudeus if would have chosen the sword instead of magic.........

And if he was a decent person
If Rudeus was a decent person he wouldn’t be Rudeus. Like f*ckin hell I started to gag and almost vomit as I watched that shit and what he was doing, it was f*cking terrible. Why do people like that series again?

It’s always funny that the way a lot of manga show a person’s “skill” with a sword has absolutely nothing to do with skill and just how fast they swing it.
Normal real life skills with a weapon: proper form and use of it effectively and efficiently
Manga weapon skills: Sword go whoosh! Nyoooom Fast sword go brrrrrrr and very strong

Why marry only one when he can marry them all? I mean even if the Kingdom prohibited polygamy, I really doubt they're going to say "no" to their strongest royal knight and strongest adventurer and who knows how many big shots this many trained in the past. My man's sacrificing his youth ambitions and dreams to instead guide the new generation of heroes will finally pay off.
Honestly, he probably cant see them as anything else but his pupils/children. Sure, theyve grown now but he took care of them when they were kids.

liking this so far, normally in these kind of series the MC's strengh tend to end up being elevated by the other characters to ridiculous levels out of childish admiration, but here it at least for now seem like the admiration he is getting from his former students is actually legit and deserved.

Wow... seriously, a blunt sword? He cut a tatami roll with a blunt sword? Just how good is he... I mean, for something blunt to technically "cut", you need it to travel fast enough that the air infront of it become an "edge" to be used to cut. Slicing with something blunt is easy, but cutting... now that's something
Speaking of this, I noticed the mangaka put in the effort to show snapshots the MC's motion that imply torque. He's essentially whipping the sword. Like hitting a Golf ball.

Cutting properly might seem like a beginner task, but it's one of the things that distinguish a student from a master. Check out this video for example (ignore the dumb title, it's from iirc an iaido dan qualification but I couldn't find the original): All these people are highly skilled and have spent years training (you don't get to use a sharp sword in iaido until at least first dan), but there's a huge disparity in who manages a full smooth cut of all 5 tatami and who stops at the first that's much more involved than "swing faster".

Tbh I think this qualified as dropping the ball on the anime's part. This would definitely add some flavor to the story that I think at this point it definitely needs, (at least to explain some plot points).
The anime is unfortunately just bad - the focus on swordsmanship is fine and all but at the cost of a lot of context it makes the whole story even more unrealistic than bland than the source material.
