I really like how Beryl isn't underestimated by his allies AND enemies like in any random fantasy slops. That's very refreshing.
Only watched the anime (which, by proxy, is more truthful to LN).
In the anime, there is no "Hinnis and the gang". The enemy assassin group is a nameless, generic, faceless NPCs and we never get to see what is going on with them and their details, outside of the exposition of they're an assassin group hired by Sven religion faction (the Pope) to take out Sven nation loyalist figurehead (the Prince).
The first breakout happened somewhere at the plaza, instead of a main road in the manga, where the assassins employed smoke screen to move through the royal guard defense line, but they ultimately thwarted with minimum casualty on defenders' side. Berryl noticed the assassin's attempt to kys during the fight, but most importantly, he saw Roze's fighting style being very aggressive and violent. She was more of a defensive type with proficiency at handling a shield back in the dojo. No restraint in killing the attackers despite the instruction to capture the assailants whenever possible.
Likewise, there's no scene about Royal Guards' initiative to assault the assassin's base (because the assassins are faceless NPC), so the scene went from that previous fight, to a bit of downtime and Roze's backstory (spoiler section below), and straight into what the manga is getting into: the City Tour chapter. Yes, Fey is manga exclusive character, just like Hinnis-and-the-gang is. Yes, there was no Prince depresso episode.

Just as shown in the manga (and I hope it will be explored further, even if just one-pager), Roze is very caring towards children. This trait is noticed by the papal faction, and they basically weaponize it to coerce Roze into participating in the assassination attempt. I won't spoil further beyond what the manga have shown, because I think it is going to be a p good revelation, even though simple. And yes, there will be a 1-on-1 between her and Berryl.

I want them to face off seriously. Like he is forced to go all put against her and win and it actually pushes him like that fight with other guy did.
Should prove to be interesting next chapters to be sure.

Their objective isn't defeating Beryl, they only need to kill the prince, and that is enough, so as long as they can "go around" him, they accomplish their mission... but if Lucy is there too, there's no way they can do that.
But... why aren't her here? This feels important enough for her to be here.

I kinda mentioned this in last comment thread. Light novel, anime and manga follow the same main plot points but manga elaborates on it more with manga original characters to replace some of the nameless characters. Anime directly adapts the light novel.
Manga wise for the main plot, it hasn’t deviated at all for the general plot line that’s in the light novel. What the manga does that makes it so much better is these manga original characters that get added. It also helps the actual characters from the light novel get better.
For example, at first the prince in the light novel version was pretty standard prince archetype. He had a goal, he was targeted by his enemies, and he is to wed soon. Nothing screamed unique personality or anything in his background. And now manga version, we get introduced to Captain Fey, who is revealed to also be his caretaker from birth who genuinely cares for him and was still fighting to protect him until her death. And the prince now has lost her, the silence as he sat there spoke volumes of the inner turmoil between his own personal feelings and various other things that are involved with his role as prince.
Similar stuff has happened in previous arcs that have helped light novel characters feel more fleshed out or given them better character growth by the manga original characters. The manga original characters and how they are woven into this story making it so much better overall.
As a novel reader and also having watched the anime. I and many others are of the opinion that the manga version is the best version of this story.

Yup, I read the novels and I agree 100%, though I havent seen the anime. I bought the novels to support the series but I have to admit the manga is so much better.
Anyways, on the subject of the novels, I'll spoiler this so no-one gets hit if they don't want, but iirc
Roze fights Beryl and is defeated, of course, but she's a "good person" so she doesn't die, and resolves to repent for her crimes. She actually comes back later as a "Mysterious Masked Knight" archetype to help out Beryl. I wonder how the manga will show that, I bet it'll be cooler than in the novel.
Anyways, thanks as always galaxy degen. Not much action in this chapter but they gotta set it up for the next, I'm looking forward to that!
