Hmm i do hate the word Swordsaint because saints are peaceful people who tends to be selfless and very helpful to everyone. often do try to heal people, feed the poor and help them on their feet again 100% selfless.
so anyone who uses a sword is kinda different.
so our cool MC is more like a swordmaster. he is SO great with a sword that he is close to be a demigod. Sword medium?
To further elaborate on what others said in Japanese culture, the highest levels of the study of the sword are also a philosophical and spiritual pursuit rather than a purely martial one, and given the Japanese word for saint, seijin(聖人) can mean both a saint or sage depending on the context, the title for the highest achievement in swordsmanship being called a sword saint(sage), kensei (剣聖), makes more sense when within that specific cultural and linguistic context.

Hopefully the anime will make justice to this manga's fighting sequences.

I don't feel like arguing about the contradictions or lack thereof within his actions, but at the very least engaging in acts that would cause Laffey a lifetime of guilt at best if not outright trauma and catastrophic emotional distress should he succeed and she ever finds out constitutes a spiritual betrayal of the highest order. So maybe he's not a hypocrite, he's just a monstrous traitor instead.
I agree with that.

But again, he probably would prefer her hatred than her death. I mean, that whole "honor the last wish", "preserve their legacy" things are, in a sense, coping mechanisms for the fact that dead won't come back. If they could be revived, all those talks might be tossed out of windows. Might not everyone do that, but someone will certainly do so. After all, hatred and grieving are luxuries of the livings.

Dude ended up working for the villains who murdered his lover. That should trigger some alarms for him, but I suppose he had nothing to lose, seeing how he was at the bottom already.
Who knows he’s obviously still extremely grief ridden even now. So he likely sees this as the only way to reach the love of his life again with him likely ignoring the fact that she wouldn’t want anything that led up to her revival or being revived

I really didn't feel anything for Schupple during the flashback/backstory. He made a deal with the very people that were responsible for her death--if she were resurrected, why wouldn't the church come after her again? Oh, she's not going to use her miracle ever again? Right, like she would ever promise something like that.

With all that information, I feel that Sword Sage is pretty fitting for this manga.

In other Mangas where the church or gods are more involved in these skills, Sword Saint might fit, but here it feels off.

it's rare for a sad villain backstory to make me hate a character more so kudos to the writer for pulling it off. dude is insanely stupid lol. like not even a "durrr he at him darkest point" can explain willingly joining hands with the target of your revenge just because of a really obvious lie some dude (who you should have killed as soon as you recognized where he was from) said.

Thats pathetic if it were me I'd completely wipe the entire church clean and gave a not so easy death to the fker that gave the order to kill the girl instead of becoming their dog

Loner life was pretty disapointing
I mean, yeah. I wasn't giving it a gold star, just letting people know the studios involved. I wasn't recommending Loner Life. I'm not a fan of Loner Life, and I read more than enough to reach that conclusion before the anime aired. Look, as long as it is better animated than BlueLock Season 2 (and boy was that a sad fall), I'll be happy. Heck, I don't mind getting mostly SlideshowLock tier animation if they nail fight seasons. Would I want Ufotable? Yes.

Yes there is, a few days ago a PV came out too

So far, I'm not really looking forward to it and it's not because of the CGI.
The choreography felt dumbed down to me, though hopefully that's just because they're saving the good stuff for the actual show.
