What about women that are born with a hymen that is open enough to not rip during sex (I am not sure, but i think some may be even born without one)? Would women stop being virgins if their hymen gets torn due to trauma (or masturbation)? Or would you consider women who went through hymenoplasty virgins?

Given that the other name for hymenoplasty is "virginity restoration", that is the intended conclusion.

Well, more like, was interested in your opinion on some edge cases. "Virginity"="having a hymen" does sound like a consistent logic, until you bring in the male virginity or anal/oral/whatever-non-vaginal virginity.

IMO, kinda strange to say that vaginal virginity is physiological thing, while any other kind is cultural, but i'll agree to disagree.

So if a girl fingers herself she isn't a virgin anymore? If a guy fingers a girl he's not a virgin anymore? This isn't a standard you would hold in any other situation but you would hold it here, it's pure cope. If a guy and a girl would remain virgins doing it then the same should hold true for girl girl.
