The problem are the possible conflicts of interest and the power balance: the relationship is consensual or is it extorted under the threat of being fired? If/when he will get promoted, it's due to his work, or because he is the noss' toy-boy?
Of course HR should handle it with discretion, but considering the reaction in the last page I don't see that happening...

Well, we know this HR girl already, so I'd press "X" to doubt, if this will be handled professionally

She was always kinda like this but she was being way too rude this chapter.
I think it's because them moving in together has (short of getting married) completely dashed any hope she had of having something with Megumi, and she's (understandably IMO) reacting emotionally. Not that it excuses her behavior, but I don't think it comes out of nowhere.

It's cause she's also in love with Megumi, which, btw, kinda came out of nowhere but it's something that's been established a few volumes back.

I know why she's mad, but she was still too rude. Shiori also got her heart broken, she didn't actually like a bitch.

Why are people acting like the mildly spiteful semi-joking lesbian is suddenly like, the most horrid bitch in the world?
She's not like, actually sabotaging their relationship or directly insulting him, basically just going "damn you i wish that were me." While still supporting them. Settle down.

Shiori is a nicer person overall, so different reaction. Again, not justifying it, just saying it makes sense.

Throughout heaven and earth she alone is the certified worst girl
From seeing you in the Countach comment threads, I knew you were a person of impeccable reasoning. This confirms it, I've never seen such an elegant character design wasted on such an annoying "losing stalker" cliché.

why’s everybody overreacting so much? y’all making it seem like Kuroki hasn’t actively pushed them closer together throughout the series. hell she’s a large reason they finally made progress and f*cked. i’d say her reaction is perfectly reasonable seeing as she helped the woman she loves process her feelings for someone else.

We're 100+ chapters in, but remind me... they have a manager/managee relationship, right? Or at least work in the same department?

Like, I gotta think for a corporation like they work in there's gotta be rules against that.

At my company, which is a Fortune 100 company in the US, we have very explicit policies against relationships between those in reporting lines. It's fine to be in a relationship with someone in the company, but it absolutely cannot be in a situation where there is a power imbalance.

AFAIK in most 1st world countries you cannot have a written rule for that, because it's not legal, it conflicts with private life (and there are quite few bosses who marry their secretaries, AFAIK).

Of course, in many companies this rule could be unwritten, as in "if you have relationship, we'll find something to fire you for / transfer you to another department". But it's never outright spoken as a reason, because that's a lawsuit waiting to happen.
