In Japan incest is not illegal, but marriage has to be at least First Cousin or farther (or Steps). Direct linage and aunts/uncles are too close. In the US incestuous marriage is illegal but since most laws are at the state level it varies by state for incest itself. In three states incest between full siblings is legal. And no, in Alabama it is a Class C felony. I've made several posts about this so check Wikipedia: Legality of incest in the United States.Incest isn't really a sin per sey.
Abraham was married to his half sister. And cousin marriages were the norm. (also who tf you think Adam and Eve's son Seth married? going off the info only his sister's would be an option).
Well... unless you're using the term generally...
Although you do have that brief period when they left egypt, it had become a sin for the hebrews to do so. Since in egypt and other places it had become so debauched and done for the wrong reasons, that it was now forbidden to set themselves apart from others, and to also change their culture because they had become like the egyptians as well. (it's harder to bring the nuance of "it's okay if X" than it is to just outright ban it).
Intent is often the distinguishing factor of something being sinful or not. (outside the obvious cases, like most if not all of the other things mentioned in Deuteronomy where it mentioned incest. Like adultery and such.)
So there isn't really a clear-cut, right or wrong about it, in regards to siblings and cousins. Top down is bad because well, you're married, and that's your parents spouse. With artificial insemination though... who knows.
As for Aunt/Uncle and Niece/Nephew... Look no further than Moses's father, whom was in an Aunt/Nephew relationship.
"And Amram married his father’s sister Jochebed, and she bore him Aaron and Moses"
Probably still a sin if your Jewish tho, because they don't have Christ ushering in the new age, where distinguishing yourself from others as Gods chosen people by race is no longer a thing. Unless it was only a sin during the times of having left egypt, and it went back to normal once they depravity they had learned in egypt was unlearned.

The link has a table that gives info on each state. In Alabama incest is a Class C felony. There are some states where incest is punishable by up to life in prison while others it's like 2yrs/$500. The reason Alabama is mocked so often is that not only are Rednecks not protected they are an Approved Target Class. I think this constant mocking, particularly by those in the liberal coastal urban areas who also mock everyone in "Fly-over Country" (look how red that is on an electoral map outside of Illinois where only Chicago matters), is one reason that the region tends Republican (the Fuck You All effect).Yeah, I knew about most of that.
Most people don't realize that most of the time, it's the marriage that is illegal, not the act.
For the Alabama one do you mean the act is a felony? or marriage? (To my knowledge it happens more in florida, so kinda funny that alabama is known for it despite not being one of the most common places).
