That photo didnt have the spectre in it, it only showed Namu's arm which is cursed or something from his childhood. The photos which spectres came out of all the spectre in it. A spectre didnt come out of the picture where Kaya was making a peace sign either, as the spectre wasn't in that photo either.

Yeah, exactly this. But just to add on, his arm being cursed/haunted isn't from his childhood, but from when he pulled Kaya out of her human shell. We saw that it was scarred as a result, but the photo confirmed that the damage is both physical and spiritual

So it's okay if Osamu-kun hides in this bushes to take pictures of kindergarten children playing, but when I do it I get questioned by the police... /s

This is the sort of analogue horror I can get behind, though Osamu-kun needs to be more careful when buying antique electronics as he seems prone to being cursed. Kaya-chan was very cute and badass as usual, and it's important that Namu finally witnessed her using her powers to save them both exposing her human heart. As mentioned by others, trying to extract her spiritual core seems to leave beyond some almost supenatural radioactive damage according to the photo of Namu's arm. Finally, things are really moving forward for Chie-sensei to summon the courage to approach Nana-san to talk about Kaya-chan and the Ebisumori's. All around a very impactful and substantive chapter, thanks for the TL!

I was just thinking.... perhaps the grandmother freaked out because her flesh shield is close to death and the spector in her is terrified of encountering Kaya on it's own.
