the thing kaya smacks down is the ghost of the corpse, which is why kaya is confused when she looks back up to the window and still sees the "ghost"

the "ghost" behind the window is the hanged body swaying back and forth

i think by "creep" they meant like a stalker or someone alive that's also weird, not a ghost.
