We already know the government/association are beyond evil so while they are threatening you, why not use the they were to strong excuse and take minimal energy or if you see the other side is almost equal, stab in the back to eliminate future threats and play the pretend they were too strong card

... The "you guys go ahead, I'll hold them here" always grinds my gears. Especially in cases like this, where the ones saying it are trying to break through.

I keep seeing it followed by the "heroes" going past the guy blocking them. And the other side just lets them (I remember this most from Bleach, they did it all the time). The entire point of blocking the path is to not let people pass! What are you even doing?!
