Can't say I'm a big fan of this kind of writing. The reason for him to bring friends, serving alcohol, the timing of the call, coincidently being drunk, getting honey trapped, etc...I mean, there are ways of creating drama, but the sequence of events is really beggars belief.

Did we even read the same manga here? This was all quite well-paced and competently written. The FL's friend figures its about time to talk to the ML about what he's about to run into with regards to their relationship, since he's the only guy who doesn't appear to be just after her for sex. She suggested bringing friends to make him more comfortable in an unfamiliar situation but knocked them out for their private discussion. Any normal person would have taken a tiny sip of those spiked drinks to see what kocked their friends out like that, but clearly the ML can't handle alcohol at all. And we knew that what's her face had caught feelings for the ML in previous chapters, or so it appears. It was about time for another bite of drama to move the story forward, hence the situation we see.

All in all, decently solid progression.

to be fair, it's a bit hard to capture the intended pacing of the original material (LN) when adapting to manga or anime, never mind having to cut off big chunks of character development and exposition about their motivations and why they're about to do what they're about to do.
