"Oh, I can't do anything about slavery even when I'm an unbeatable MC and I have the king on my side and the old figurehead against slavery (whom I'm also bedding and she's totally in love with me) also can't do anything, so let me buy more slaves, probably another cute/hot girl, maybe underage? Why not?"

Welcome to Japan, who didn't stop slavery due to a moral imperative like the west.

I remember him not behaving like a king. Seems to be the same.

Diving into the bed.

Yeah, that isn't the time to bring something like that up.

No trust in him.

Covers up to stay hidden. Removes the cover first chance she gets.

Slavery can't be removed ever, as it just keeps changing forms instead, to suite the current social system so that people don't consider it as slavery.
Yeah, still exists in the modern world, from prison labour to actual slaves.

Sometimes i don't really understand the logic of not wanting to add more Harem members given in the plot.

I mean, it wasn't MC who fell in love with Meirias and chose her as his 2nd partner.

Meirias fell in love with him, and it was Ricolette who proposed Meirias to marry MC along with her.

And now she is blaming MC on possibly falling in love and marrying another girl.

I mean, technically MC didn't really fall in love with either of them.

His marriage with Ricolette was by a Royal Order which she accepted even-though MC gave her the option of opting out, while he married Meirias to respect and accept her feelings.

So, why blame MC for falling in love with a possible Female Slave in the future and having her as another Concubine?

Not to forget, in the Manga, MC didn't even spend proper married-life nights with either of them (in the Novel it's clearly mentioned that he sleeps with both of them on a regular basis, but that did not occur in the Manga yet especially with Meirias).

the king married a commoner? after how turbulent the succession was and it's only been a year or so since you'd think he would be making a political marriage to solidify his rule.
That would only happen, if there is a suitable candidate.

Plus, there are negatives as well when it comes to political marriage, as the family of the girl in this case would acquire more political power because of being linked with Royalty, which could harm the position of the New King as his rule is still unbalanced.

Marrying a Commoner on the other hand gives him flexibility, as it allows him to delay other marriage offers for now, plus not allow any other Noble/High Ranking family from gaining power while his own power is unstable.

Outside of the complete shift in story and what felt like tone after the first part of the story, I rather like this. It isn’t great by any stretch, but it is good. I also for the most part rally like Rico…sure when first introduced we didn’t like her, but after watching her converse with Lynos when talking about their marriage the first time she really came into her own. I also thought it was cute this chapter that she was getting antsy and jealous because he might get a female slave and then make them a concubine…shows she rather cares for him, even if it seems a little off-putting in its own way.

I know Rico has been an all over the place character, but she has seemed more consistent lately. I did find her suggestion of Lynos marrying Mei an out of left field suggestion on her part. Figured she would want him to herself, but seems she was at least open to adding one more.

And Lynos’, followed by her, reaction to her brother’s wife was great.

Aw man, hope you guys don't end up dropping the series, don't want it to be picked up by one of those group that just runs it through MTL without even bothering to proofread it...

Not everything should been mentioned to actually happen.

True, but they can show them sleeping in one bed atleast.

So, far we only saw the first night of MC & Rico in the Manga, though nothing happened during it.

But there is not a single hint of the first night between MC & Mei, even-though she is married to him.

The situation feels more like MC is married to Mei in name only.

I mean, Mei doesn't even act like she is married to MC, and acts more like a maid/subordinate.

She had basically become a background character since she married MC back in Chapter 33.1 (majority of focus is either on Rico or the new girls).
