So, why the heck are they keeping the posehai they detained alive, after all that!?
Probably to interrogate them and find out any hidden hideouts they have to get rid of the rest of this group of posehai. That or to publicly judge them so that the families of those who died during the hunt get closure and justice along with all those who were poisoned and lost loved ones due to their poisoning of the water.

I don't think she is "gone" gone. Just that the Princess is avoiding them going by that they say "they" haven't seen her.

That and possibly he is going to confine them in a remote land to try to change their ideologies and make they be auto-sustentable to give them a second chance to live, Mei is conflicted about that but maybe is part of the MC's plan to give Mei closure.
The most effective and fastest way to end the conflict is a full genocide of the Posehai race, but everyone know the MC isnt going that route.

If we're going to talk about Mei changing, originally she had hoped feet and then it was changed to normal human feet. I forget what chapter it changed, so I guess I need to re read.
Yeah the change on her feet it super notorious and unnecessary

EXACTLY my question, they should've been executed long ago, as they've demonstrated everytime they're psychopath killers.
Or at the least they should be experimenting enhanced torture everyday.

nah dude, he said to the king "as my subordinates"....

...you know that means a whole arc of "reforming" the bad POS-hai through the "power of friendship". Truly beta japanese at it's peak.

Yeah, they started out as semi-hooved feet. You can see them on chapter 19, page 23 (I think it's also the first chapter she appears in). Basically human plantigrade style with hoof-like toes and heels, as opposed to fully digitigrade like IRL hooved animals.

Chapter 20, she's still got the hoof-styled feet (childhood flashback), then chapter 21 they're fully human-like, but we only seem them at a distance. Chapter 22 and they're obviously fully human, so it didn't even last half a volume.
