Adding to the info the author didn't had the guts to deliver at the end, some of the babies get crushed by the birth canal of the pseudo penis and don't make the childbirth.

@BandAids Yeah, i have no idea, just the fact that they get to reproduce is baffling.

The females are hyper aggressive and may literally bite the dick off out of the male if they don't like his courting at the last minute, which is a big deal because they are stronger and the bite force is insane.
So... imagine everything is going fine for the make hyena, he is getting ready to mate and then, she snaps out of nowhere and castrates him.

But that's not all, even when things go fine the male still has to somehow insert his dick into a pseudo dick, he has to make that work somehow... while avoiding a sudden change of mind from the female.
And after all that is done, childbirth still has to happen, one way or another broken baby or broken dick....
