Even if the story is plain, they managed to built up a little bit of tension yet they destroyed everything in this chapter.

so no plan whatsoever, they fucking leave the girl get kidnapped with no way to track her down or a back up plan, and everything went well because the pig was stupid enough to reveal te location for no reason, and then the mc who was supposed to be furious and preoccupied for the gurl was kind enough to pull his punches and no incapacitate or outright kill the goons, all to end with a slap from the girl because the pig was badmouthing her husbando finalizing with a "he was controlled the whole time" even when previously wanted to fuck the waifu with no one controlling him..............i call bullshit.

The whole stupid point of this was to try and push Shin over the edge in one way or another. The whole "he's the most powerful mage alive. What would happen if he became a devil" plan. It's pretty much standard stuff for Shin for a while after. More money, alliance stuff, he solves a major mystery, more minor antagonist, more devils thinking how to deal with Shin, etc etc etc zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz....

This kidnapping arc was pointless. It didn’t change or add anything to the story. Having the bishop say “k let’s work together” has literally the same effect on the story as everything that just happened.

@zeroxjac Yeah, this made no sense. It was Shin's very plan to use Sicily as a bait, yet now he suddenly had no way to track her. Huh? Something's indeed missing here.

We knew from the beginning the archbishop was a stupid scumbag, so having him reveal the location wasn't anything much. In fact if you get kidnapped, I don't think the question is peculiar at all. The pig had no idea anyone could listen to them, so he answered because he was so high from the successful crime, feeling totally in control and believing everything's going his way.

kinda funny, they stalk MC and put together this whole big ruse to steal the waifu to make MC lose it completely, and it fails at the last moment because they forgot to take a bit of time to learn what kind of person SHE is

I was annoyed by the last chapter, at this point all I can do is roll my eyes and stop reading.

@InsaneInsomniac To be fair they also wanted to let her get assaulted a little before he got there. If she hadn't been safe he would have blown up immediately. They failed mainly because they underestimated him or overestimated themselves. They thought they could stall for another like, 5 minutes, atleast. They got punked though and he made it before she even lost clothing.

This whole thing was a mirror of their own paths and their leaders paths to demon hood after all. They know how it works out.

@Kaarme True they planned badly. They used her as bait but she was never supposed to move. They knew they could handle normal human guard types and such, but the demons threw the plan off. They were foolish but the demons made the same exact mistake of underestimating the enemy's abilities. So both plans failed because they were acting on inaccurate info.

These are kids though so a little mistake like this is completely normal. I mean adults make mistakes like this a lot too. The demons just think they are strong and hence became arrogant because by normal standards they are the strongest.

Damsel in distress two-parter with questionable luck and (lack of) planning involved. Gunna have to call the last two chapters a strike.

Sicily is one of the “Ultimate Mages” too, so I’d like to see this series use that to give her strength and independence at least on par with what the other members have combat-wise. Obviously everyone is going to be weak directly compared to Shin, but pushing her into full helplessness for a whole scene is just distasteful.

@Vincent210 That was her "charm" right from the beginning. Shin fell for her because she was a super pretty and gentle girl who needed his help. Well, it's actually nothing peculiar as such as men typically feel good if they can help a beautiful woman and receive appreciation in return (which is why women can call men simple). However, in a story such a character is empty on her own and not interesting at all in the long run. It would be nice is she had some special genius skill. So, even if she was next to helpless in a fight, she would be irreplaceable elsewhere.

To the bloodthirsty commenters:
1: Shin didn't kill the demons because he doesn't have a clue they're demons. If he did, they'd likely be red smears on the ground.
2: He didn't kill the archbishop because no matter how much of a brainwashed shit the guy is, he's still the effective leader of that entire county and pretty much worshiped as the right hand of that country's god. Yeah it'd probably be better off for the world if he was dead, but the dung farmers of his country don't know that and killing the leader of a country is a poor diplomatic move when you're trying to create an alliance of every country.
